Plainspoken Selected for the 2026 Film Invasion Lima Film Festival

Plainspoken Selected for the Inaugural Film Invasion Lima Film Festival

The 2024 documentary film Plainspoken, a documentary exploring race relationships in the Deep South community of Plains, Georgia, a town unique for its international renown as the hometown of the late former President of the United States Jimmy Carter and his wife, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, has been selected to screen at the inaugural Film Invasion Lima film festival in Lima, Peru.

Film Invasion Lima showcases wonderful undiscovered films in one of South America’s most dynamic cities! FI-Lima has been created in association with the team behind The Discover Indie Film Foundation (DIFF), a California based nonprofit for the arts.  DIFF presents two festivals every year, Film Invasion Los Angeles (FI-LA) and Sherman Oaks Film Festival (SOFF).

FI-Lima is dedicated to bringing the same “filmmaker’s first” festival experience to Peru that people have been enjoying in Los Angeles since 2016!
